Migrants Remain in Ceuta Despite Border Surge Due to NGO Aid

Ada Lluch recently visited Ceuta, a Spanish enclave in North Africa, and reported that thousands of migrants have taken over streets, neighborhoods, and beaches throughout the small city. Speaking with Ezra Levant on Friday’s episode of The Ezra Levant Show, Lluch stated that aid from organizations including the Red Cross has enabled migrants to remain in the area following a recent border surge.

Lluch criticized the lack of police presence in areas where migrants are staying, noting that officers are frustrated but follow instructions from senior officials. She also emphasized that the Red Cross provides daily food assistance, and without such support, many migrants would return to Morocco.

Additionally, Lluch pointed out that the open border crossing allows migrants to leave Ceuta, and she observed during a recent trip from Spain to Italy that no new border controls have been implemented in Europe’s Schengen Area. She mentioned that Spanish media coverage of Ceuta varies significantly, with some outlets portraying migrants sympathetically while others present different accounts.
